In February 2025 I took a trip to Copenhagen to visit galleries, exhibitions and interactive experiences. We began our adventure at the Glyptotek, an art museum featuring an exhibition called 'Iconoclasm - Art is a battleground', telling the story of our relationship with art and what compels us to distroy it. We also enjoyed their Winter Gardens.

Our next stop was Design Museum Danmark. We saw a feature on pottery, followed by a section on textiles, and then a exhibition called 'Danish Modern' which displayed Danish design from the 1920s to the 1970s.

We then took a bit of a detour to a neighbourhood in Copenhagen called 'Freetown Christiania', a community and anarchist commune started in 1971. The town was full of amazing graffiti and hand made structures, it was really cool!

Coming onto my favourite of all the galleries, Copenhagen Contemporary. We saw exhibitions and pieces by James Turrel (Aftershock) and Emma Talbot. My favourite exhibition was called 'Intensify Life' by an artist called Marta Minujín, where we saw gigantic installatons, sculptures and large collage paintings.

We had the opportunity to explore the city both on foot and on a boat tour, and we got stuck into their amazing pastries, open sandwiches, and exciting nightlife. Here are some snaps of some exciting, colourful and creative things I saw on the streets of Copenhagen.

I'd highly recommend a long weekend in Copenhagen, there's loads of things to do with a lot of creative inspiration!
